2011 World Finals Maryland

Two teams travelled to the US, the first time Switzerland has participated in the World Finals. Taking the long voyage in their stride, Swiss teams successfully presented their Long-term problems, solved a tricky spontaneous problem and enjoyed meeting other participants and watching their solutions, experiencing fun activities such as those organised by NASA. Thanks to local teams for giving us such a warm welcome and well done to the Swiss teams who did a fabulous job!

Around 18,000 participants gathered together at the closing ceremony. Or browse all the activities of the fun-filled week and see images of how kids rose to meet the interesting challenges.

2011 Eurofest Gdansk

Gdansk welcomed two teams from Switzerland who after joining the parade, enjoyed presenting their Long-term problems, showed great teamwork competing in the spontaneous problems, and who effortlessly took up the challenge to compete as part of a mixed team of different nationalities. Eurofest was held in the beautiful historic city centre. The treasure hunt organised at the beginning of the week gave competitors a fun and unusual opportunity to discover the city. A fascinating event!

2010 Eurofest Belarus

Youngsters travelled from Switzerland to the international competition in Belarus. Our teams successfully took up the challenge to solve a Spontaneous problem, they presented their solution to the Long-term problem, and also worked hard with teams from two different countries to solve the mixed team problem.

Here, teams meet the challenge and make a weight-bearing structure of merely 19g support hundreds of kilos in weight.

What excitement as participants add perhaps hundreds of kilos to test the fragile-looking structure, before it finally breaks. This has to be seen to be believed!

2009 Eurofest Patince

Patince was so much fun! Swiss competitors tackled a spontaneous problem (you can see some teamwork for that in action here), they showcased their Long-Term problem and also took up the challenge of solving a problem when they were part of a mixed team from different countries. Well done, teams! The Swiss team proudly accepted the special prize for excellent teamwork. Thanks, everyone at Patince, that was a busy week!

2007 Eurofest Berlin

The first time a team from Switzerland attended the Eurofest. Teams had great fun competing in the Spontaneous, Mixed and Long-term problems. Well done to the Swiss for winning the special prize for teamwork! Berlin was a great competition!
